About Emma - illustrator

I grew up for the first 35 years of my life in glorious Gloucestershire, before relocating to the Devon coast, so I've always been surrounded by countryside and nature. Art and sound are my passions in life, I love to paint on objects in various patterns, sketch and draw, and sing and write music. A shy and quiet child from a young age, I would retreat into myself and spend my time drawing and sketching. My childhood was spent working on pictures that my grandparents would display on their kitchen wall, all askew and held up with a pushpin. 

I was introduced to Sara in the summer of 2020, and we clicked instantly. After finding out about my arty side she asked me to draw out the very first sketch of Bettie, which I did outside a seaside cafe near Brixham. Bettie soon found her wings and I'm proud of the finished book that has now been fully brought to life.
